Formats and systems

An ongoing working relationship with Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk. Currently two changes: the move to 1080p/50 as the house format, and the migration of the content management system.

Both are the kind of change that touches everything at once – acquisition, editing, playout, archive, and the metadata that has to survive all of it. The work is evaluation, specification and support along the way rather than a single delivery.

It did not start there. A virtual set brought into regular operation, the graphics systems replaced, the video servers replaced, the conference floor re-equipped. Every one of them the same shape of job: work out what the house actually needs, write it down precisely enough to be procured, then stay until it runs on air.
